About the colony
Starting point

Our client reached out to us thanks to the collaboration with Callaway County Humane Society. The client noticed a pregnant mama cat visiting the home with another older kitten. She kindly allowed the pair into her home for food and shelter. After some time mama birthed her kittens in the home. The client is fond of mama cat and she does relatively well while in the home. Her older kitten however is more of an outdoor friend.

Due to the temperamental teen's feelings of strangers we had to come up with a plan to monitor the adolescent until they were of spay/neuter age.

We worked with the client to set up a feeding schedule and begin our process of building trust. It was a tough nut to crack but we prevailed!

Support from the community

This case could not have been successful without the collaboration between Shoe Me Hope TNR and Callaway County Humane Society. Due to this partnership this colony is safe, healthy, and will be well taken care of.

End result

Due to circumstances the newborn kittens were not a good fit for the home situation, and as soon as they were able they found foster homes with the help of Callaway County Humane Society.

As for mama and her teen, they will continue to live out their lives with the client safe and comfortable
